Like most things, weddings at NSW Marriage Registry are looking a little different this year . And this wedding at NSW Marriage Registry is a great example of how many brides and grooms are celebrating their big day under such different circumstances.
Ena and Andrew had their simple wedding ceremony at the NSW Registry of Births Deaths and Marriages at Chippendale. Only six people were allowed in the room due to COVID restrictions – this group included the bride, groom, celebrant, two witnesses and myself. Ena and Andrew made the most of it however, with their family present in an adjoining room where they could watch and celebrate the occasion, while still remaining COVID safe.
Ena and Andrew celebrated with a simple family dinner in the evening. Their family and friends from interstate and overseas unfortunately could not attend their wedding at NSW Marriage Registry, given the travel circumstances. However, they’ll be able to enjoy Ena and Andrew’s wedding reception held in 2021. That’s the upside of COVID – two wedding days!
In the absence of a big reception, we marked the day with a fun photoshoot in and around the Chippendale area. One of my favourite things to do as a photographer is explore new areas to find hidden gems to photograph. Different textures, artist murals, and architectural elements are all great backdrops for wedding photography and make for some fun, dynamic pictures. Not only do they bring personality to the shot, but they also help bring out the personality of the couple. I’m sure these pictures will be fun to share with Ena and Andrew’s family and friends who couldn’t make it this time around, to get them excited for the big day next year.
As Covid restrictions are easing, 2021 is looking to be a very busy year with over 50 weddings already booked. After an extra year of wedding planning for some, I can’t wait to see what new and wonderful ideas couples come up with to celebrate their weddings!
