Let’s revisit Cheryl and Mark’s wedding from the start of the year.
The bride had hired Crabtree Cottage through Airbnb to get ready with her bridal party. Located in Berrima in the Southern Highlands, the charming little cottage is just a hop and a skip away from their wedding location, and a quick drive to the gardens and boutiques at Bowral.
The wedding itself was held at The Stables at Bendooley Estate. If a natural, rustic, country-style wedding sounds right up your alley – The Stables is the perfect venue for you. The ceremony was held by the paddocks with idyllic vistas of the lake and hills, setting a scene that was completely breathtaking whilst not taking away from the special moment at hand.
We then headed inside the barn for their lunchtime reception where the view was no less spectacular. With a cathedral ceiling and floor to ceiling glass end of the barn looking out onto the hills, it was the perfect backdrop to celebrate saying “I do”. And, not to mention, it made for some picture-perfect snaps.
The lovely couple got married in the first week of January this year, just as we were coming out of the woods of the last (hopefully, ever) COVID lockdowns and surges in cases here in Sydney. Let’s cast our minds back to that crazy time – restrictions had just started to ease (again) and there was a RAT test buying frenzy as we started to move away from requiring PCRs
Everyone in attendance from the guests to the crew had to get a PCR test within three days of the wedding, or complete a RAT test at the venue before entry. A small price to pay for some peace of mind, and to enjoy Cheryl and Mark’s special day, which had already been postponed once.
