When you’re dreaming of Paris, being stuck in Sydney thanks to COVID may not exactly feel like the most romantic place in the world. Wandering around the City of Love is hard to beat, but a surprise proposal at Glenbernie Family Farm comes surprisingly close.
I was invited along to witness Andrew and Rochelle’s special moment earlier this year. Andrew had picked Glenbernie Family Farms out west in Kurmond, NSW to be the backdrop of his surprise proposal.
Glenbernie is a family-friendly farm that’s home to a gorgeous field of sunflowers perfect for a family day out, an Instagrammable photo shoot, or in this case, a proposal. Sunflowers are the quintessential happy flower – they track the sun or, in other words, are always on the bright side of things. If that’s anything to go by, something tells me this proposal is already off to a very good start.
Like many, Rochelle’s long term dream is to visit Paris. While walking along the Seine and gazing up at the twinkly lights of the Eiffel Tower at night weren’t possible at the time, Andrew made sure to bring a little Paris magic to the proposal. Armed with a little Eiffel Tower statue – a taste of the City of Love and the travels that await them – and a cheerful field of sunflowers, Andrew had set up the perfect moment.
Oh, and she said YES, of course !
Thank you to Pierre (capturing all the motion of the proposal) from TreeLife Films for referring Andrew and Rochelle.
