Weddings are a family affair. Beyond just being a marriage between two people, weddings also represent a union of two families and are, above all, a family celebration! Kathyrn and Andres’ wedding at Athol Hall Mosman was no different.
I captured both of Kathyrn’s sisters’ weddings – photographing her sister Janice’s wedding in February 2014, Sarah in February 2020 and now Kathryn in March of this year. The sisters were all bridesmaids at each others’ weddings too! It has been great getting to meet each of the sisters at different stages of their lives and seeing how close their family dynamic is.
The civil ceremony was held at Athol Hall Lawn on a beautiful sunny day. Holding your wedding at Athol Hall Mosman is definitely a great choice if you want a view – it features an amazing 360 degree, panoramic view of Sydney Harbour. Nothing beats the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge and skyline backdrop.
We took a break from the views for a traditional Korean wedding ceremony inside Athol Hall. Witnessing different cultures and how they celebrate weddings is one of the best perks of being a wedding photographer. And look at all those amazing rich colours! The reception with all their family and friends was also conveniently held in the hall. This wedding at Athol Hall Mosman goes to show that when you find the right location, it can definitely be the setting for your whole day, and there’s no need to run all around the city if you don’t want the hassle.
Post-reception, we took advantage of the skyline views with some relaxed portraits in front of the water, and ventured down to the lookout at Bradley Head Amphitheatre for some extra shots. Because you can never have too many!
